Skelton-cum-Newby Parish Council has a number of standard documents and policies in place. These are usually reviewed at the Annual Parish Council Meeting held in May, and were last approved on 9th May 2019.
[Please note that due to legislation passed in April 2020 to allow parish councils to function safely during the covid-19 outbreak, there is no requirement to hold an Annual Parish Council Meeting in 2020 and documents are thus deemed to have been re-approved until May 2021.]

The General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) took effect in the UK from 25 May 2018. It replaces the existing law on data
protection (the Data Protection Act 1998) and gives individuals more rights and protection regarding how their personal data is used by councils. Local councils and parish meetings must comply with its requirements, just like any other organisation.
